No legitimate debt collector or attorney would act this way. For one thing, they refuse to say the name of their company or law firm. I think they are fake and probably scammers. And they threaten to file a lawsuit against you. It is a violation of federal laws (FDCPA) to threaten to file a lawsuit against a debtor if you do not actually intend to file that lawsuit. It appears that all they do is make phone calls and threaten to sue people, but they do not actually follow through with a lawsuit because they are not a real law firm. Just a call center with some very rude people in it. 1006.26 (b) Legal actions and threats of legal actions prohibited. A debt collector must not bring or threaten to bring a legal action against a consumer to collect a time-barred debt. (b) False, deceptive, or misleading representations. (1) A debt collector must not falsely represent or imply that: A debt collector must not represent or imply that nonpayment of any debt will result in the arrest or imprisonment of any person or the seizure, garnishment, attachment, or sale of any property or wages of any person unless such action is lawful and the debt collector or creditor intends to take such action.

Same for me first they called my daughter and said they tried to reach me in Houston Texas, never been to texas in my life and the claim was out of some county I never heard of and that it was about a civil suit they would not tell her from who just left the 866 number for me to call

I received the call from a number different from the state I live in. It stated the same thing as the other people have written here. It told me to call back 866 number. Very confusing and difficult to understand accent.i did not reply.

Yes I called back they said it's litigation and said need to get my file and line went dead .not sure why.

Same as all the others posted. Got called today from 817-668-3062 but call back number they left: 866-491-7917 with identical messages to others' posts, with my name and city, and different account/case #

Got a call today for same below reason. They called everyone in my family except myself, they called from 505-666-3715. But left the same 866-491-7917 number to return the call.
