FreeTaxUSA.com stated that once my federal tax extension was accepted, I would receive a text stating so. I did receive a text from this number and it appears to be legit. It is only addressing me by my first name and is not asking for any personal information. It suggests that I check email for details. I have done so and I verified the "url" address. Granted, there are always spoof and phishing calls/texts copying numbers so it is always wise to double check with the IRS regarding legitimacy of texts, phone calls and emails. Always guard your personal information, everyone. ;)
